Unrivaled has revealed its Season 3 rosters, giving fans the first official look at the eight-club lineup ahead of the league’s Friday, Jan. 8, 2027 launch. The announcement came on Wednesday night after the WNBA Finals, and it marks the clearest sign yet that Unrivaled basketball is moving firmly into its third season.
The roster reveal matters because it does more than confirm names. It sets the structure for the new campaign and shows how the league has approached roster-building differently this year. As The IX Sports put it, “It’s a little bit different this year,” with every roster built through a combination of club draft selections and collaboration between head coaches and the league office.
What the roster reveal tells us
That process was shaped by a continued emphasis on competitive balance, complementary skill sets, and continuity of club identities. In other words, the league has tried to keep each club distinct while also making sure the talent is spread in a way that keeps the competition tight.
For a league still in its early stages, that is an important detail. Unrivaled has already established itself around the idea of high-level women’s basketball presented in a fresh format, and the release of the Season 3 rosters is the next step in building that identity into something more familiar for fans and players alike.
Who starts where?
One of the headline names in the announcement was Olivia Miles, who was named to Hive BC’s roster alongside Sonia Citron. That gives Hive BC an immediate point of interest as Season 3 approaches, with fans now able to begin tracking how individual clubs shape up before opening night.
Elsewhere, the announcement adds to the sense that the league is entering the season with established stars in place. During the inaugural season of Unrivaled, Williams played for the Lunar Owls. Last season, Stewart was the only player in the league to average more than 20 points, nine rebounds, and three assists per game. Gray was also one of three players to shoot 50 percent or better from the field while attempting at least 15 field goal attempts per game.
Those numbers underline why the roster reveal draws so much attention. Unrivaled is not just presenting a new season; it is arranging a competition built around proven production, recognizable talent, and club identities that fans can quickly learn.
With the rosters now set, the focus shifts to Jan. 8. That is when Unrivaled Season 3 begins, and the league will finally show how these groupings look once the games start to matter.
