WOW Forever server status is now live, and World of Warcraft: Forever has opened as a permanent home alongside modern and Classic WoW. The launch gives players a new way into Azeroth with a level 1–60 journey, but it also asks them to choose between a more traditional presentation and an updated one at first login.
World of Warcraft: Forever live
The launch places World of Warcraft: Forever after the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. That timeline matters because it frames the server as a specific version of Azeroth rather than a side mode or a temporary event.
Players stepping in now can take the original continents to level 60. They also get more than 1,000 new quests across that route, which is the clearest sign that this is not just a visual refresh.
Zephras Isle and the Skyborne
The new content starts with Zephras Isle, where the Skyborne have an elemental skybound starting experience from levels 1 through 12. That gives new characters a dedicated opening path instead of dropping them straight into the older continents.
The Skyborne split into Windshapers for Horde-aligned characters and High-Order Skyborne for Alliance-aligned characters. Those paths also open new class and race combinations, including Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks, Undead Paladins, Human Hunters, Gnome Priests, and Dwarf Shamans.
More than 150 Riverglades quests
World of Warcraft: Forever also adds Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, the Riverglades, and Zephras Isle to Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. The Riverglades alone brings more than 150 new quests across much of the mid-30s to mid-40s experience, which suggests the launch is aimed at making the middle stretch of leveling feel less familiar than the opening hours.
The first login also matters. Players are asked to choose an Experience Preset before selecting a Ruleset, and that split is the one choice that will shape the feel of the whole run.
Experience Preset choices
A more traditional presentation uses simpler visuals, standard character models, and fewer modern interface features enabled by default. An updated presentation offers higher visual fidelity and additional interface features, so the decision is not cosmetic alone; it changes how much of the older game structure stays visible while you play.
The unresolved question is pricing, because the launch details do not say whether access to World of Warcraft: Forever carries a separate cost or sits inside existing access. For now, the server is live, the starting path is set, and the first decision happens before the first zone loads.
