Is It Bonfire Night on Thursday, 5 November, and Wirral Today says the Wallasey event and the Central Park event are going ahead as scheduled. The guide is being updated as more Wirral events are added, giving people planning the night a single place to check what is already set.
One of the clearest options is the Central Park event in Wallasey, which Wirral Pyrotechnics and Events Team is running. According to the, it runs from 3pm to 10.30pm and includes fairground rides, fire breathers and other entertainment.
Prenton Park displays
Tranmere Rovers and Heswall Round Table are staging two displays at Prenton Park. Tickets for the Prenton Park displays are £8.50, babes in arms are free, and children aged three and over need a ticket.
Parking at Prenton Park is £6 a vehicle and can be booked online. Prams and pushchairs cannot go into the stands, and the Sunday show is presented as the better option for anyone with dogs, very young children or anyone who finds loud bangs difficult.
Wirral safety rules
Anyone holding an outdoor public event in Wirral must tell the council, and community bonfire and fireworks events are checked by the Wirral Event Safety Advisory Group. That group includes the council, police, fire service and ambulance service.
The council updated its guidance for community bonfires in May, giving organisers a longer lead-in time and setting limits on bonfire size. Last year, events were approved on council land at Leasowe, Beechwood, Noctorum and Seacombe.
Woodchurch Estate bonfire
This year the Woodchurch Estate bonfire has been cancelled after its organisers pulled out, even as the Wallasey event and Central Park event stay on the list. What's On Wirral has also listed fireworks displays going ahead as scheduled, including at West Kirby Sailing Club.
For readers planning the night, the immediate task is simple: check the guide before setting off, because the list is still being updated and more displays may yet be added before Thursday, 5 November.
