FC Thun will host Heart of Midlothian in the Conference League on 5 November 2026, with kickoff set for 18:45 local time at the Stockhorn Arena in Thun. For the Swiss champion, it is another chance to put an end to a difficult European start and finally pick up a first point on the continent after two narrow defeats.
The match comes at a time when FC Thun are still trying to find their footing in Europe. Their opening two European rounds have left them with one pointless start, and the visit from Heart of Midlothian gives them a direct opportunity to change that. The Scottish side arrives with one point as well, so the result in Thun could matter for both teams as they try to improve their position in the group stage.
Recent form suggests there should be chances at both ends. FC Thun beat Lausanne-Sport 5:4 after trailing 1:4, a result that showed both their attacking resilience and the problems they can still have defensively. Before that, they lost 2:3 to Lugano in their most recent league match. Heart of Midlothian also come in with injury worries, which adds another layer to a game that already looks like a difficult one to control.
That combination of attacking potential and defensive uncertainty suggests an open contest rather than a cautious one. FC Thun and Heart of Midlothian both have enough going forward to cause trouble, but both also have obvious issues at the back. For a third-round Conference League match, that could make the Stockhorn Arena an important stage for a game that may swing on which side handles the defensive pressure better.
The setting should help create a proper European atmosphere as well. The Stockhorn Arena in Thun has around 10,000 seats, and FC Thun will hope the home crowd can help them secure the result they need. If they can turn their recent attacking flashes into a more balanced performance, this is the kind of match that could reset their Conference League campaign.
