Lakewood Police are investigating a Lakewood shooting after sources said three officers were shot in Lakewood. The incident prompted road closures near West Colfax Ave. and Wadsworth Blvd., along with police activity outside Denver Health.
Sources told CBS Colorado that the shooting involved three officers. Police also closed Bannock Street and N. Speer Blvd. outside Denver Health while the investigation continued.

Police responded to West Colfax Ave. and Wadsworth Blvd., where the intersection was closed as the investigation continued. Lakewood Police said additional details would be released as they became available.
Patrick Dickman told CBS Colorado he was inside the Easy Pawn when he heard the shots. He said a car rear ended an RTD bus and then heard 13 shots fired.

Dickman said he saw an officer surrounded the back of the bus and fire into it. He also said he saw about 5 ambulances leave the scene.
The hospital response and the intersection closures point to an active scene spread across more than one location, not a finished call. Lakewood Police have not released the full sequence of events behind the officer-involved shooting, and the report leaves open what led to the gunfire and the condition of the wounded officers.
