Kylie Arellano was recovered from a home in Huntington, Oregon, on Nov. 1, 2026, after nearly a year and a half missing. Federal prosecutors charged Adam Hunter Harmel the next day with transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
The teenager had been 15 when she was reported missing from Garden City in May 2025, and authorities later recovered the now-17-year-old from Harmel’s home. The FBI said Harmel was taken into custody on Nov. 1, and the complaint filed Nov. 2 in the District of Utah ties the case to an alleged online contact, a trip to Utah, and transport back to Oregon.
Eric Solari and Keriann Solari
The recovery also reopened an earlier family case tied to Harmel. Eric Solari and Keriann Solari said they reported an alleged assault to authorities in Baker County, Oregon, in 2024 involving their 6-year-old daughter, after she disclosed it in late October or early November that year. The family said the report went in that evening, and their daughter had a forensic interview the next day.
Keriann Solari said their daughter was afraid to sleep in her own room because a window faced Harmel’s home. “She would say that he would come and look in her window at night,” she said. The family also said their children went to school and played together with Harmel’s children when they lived near each other in Huntington, Oregon.
Baker County case remains open
Documents the family shared with KUTV show an Oregon sexual abuse protection order stamped March 14, 2025, and the Baker County District Attorney’s Office said the case involving the Solari child remains active and ongoing. The office also said the case was brought to a grand jury in 2025, and it obtained a new search warrant after the recent events in Huntington.
Eric Solari said, “I’m glad to see that he’s off the street, not a menace to anybody anymore,” and added, “I’m sad for the family that has to deal with this like we had to deal with.” He also said, “If we can see this man off the streets and not able to hurt anybody else, that’s our end goal,” while Harmel’s next federal court appearance is scheduled for November 10, 2026.
