10 nominees for the 2026 HLTV Hall of Fame ballot — Hltv opens the door to a bigger, bolder class

HLTV has done what the Hall of Fame is supposed to do: force a real argument. Ten nominees, four inductees, one ceremony in Belgrade on 9 January 2027 — and suddenly the ballot has the kind of weight this institution needs if it is going to matter at all. The 2026 list is not just a roll-call of famous names. It is a sign that the revised rules have changed the shape of the conversation, especially now that coaches are no longer locked out.

That matters most for Filip “NEO” Kubski, who is on the ballot for the first time after the coaching restriction was scrapped. It also matters because some names have become annual fixtures of the discussion. fRoD and Ksharp have now been nominated every year the Hall of Fame has existed, which says plenty about both their standing and how narrow the margin remains between recognition and omission.

The ballot has finally become a proper debate

The Hall of Fame has existed long enough now to build its own history. In 2024, the inaugural class featured Potti, HeatoN, f0rest and GeT_RiGhT. In January 2025, cogu, markeloff and olofmeister were added as the Class of 2025. That is the backdrop for this latest ballot, and it is a decent one: the line has been drawn, the standards are clearer, and the list of nominees now has to stand up to scrutiny rather than sentiment alone.

The 10 nominees for the Hall of Fame Class of 2026 are Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Kenny “kennyS” Schrub, Filip “NEO” Kubski, Rambo, elemeNt, solo, SpawN, XeqtR, fRoD and Ksharp. That is a serious field by any measure. It includes players with Major-winning pedigree, long-term excellence, and enough event wins, MVP awards and top-tier achievements to justify the spotlight.

dupreeh arrives with 19 CS:GO Majors and five Major titles behind him, which is the sort of record that makes any ballot look a little too small. kennyS brings 32 notable event wins, seven Top 20 placings and 10 MVP awards, a résumé that captures both peak brilliance and longevity. NEO’s case is different again: five Top 20 appearances, one Major title and four trophies as a coach, which is exactly why the rule change matters. He is no longer being left on the outside by a technicality.

The broader point is that HLTV has made the Hall of Fame feel more complete by changing who can be considered in the first place. The summer repeal of the coaching ban did not just help one nominee. It widened the lane for the entire process, and that is a healthy move for an institution that should reward the full history of Counter-Strike rather than a selectively edited version of it.

There will always be argument over who gets in and who has to wait. That is the point. But when the ballot is strong, the debate becomes meaningful instead of decorative. This year’s 10 nominees give HLTV that chance. Now the committee has to do the hard part and separate the truly immortal from the merely excellent.

On 9 January 2027 in Belgrade, four of them will get that call. Until then, the Hall of Fame has done something useful: it has made everyone care about the shortlist.
