Donald Trump keeps MAGA Inc. fundraising after GOP losses — Trump Political Operation

Donald Trump told advisers he intends to keep his Trump political operation raising money after Republicans’ disappointing midterm elections. He is weighing whether to keep MAGA Inc. or build a new political organization to back Republican candidates in 2028 and beyond.

That plan keeps the operation active at a moment when MAGA Inc. has already raised nearly $450 million since the start of 2025 and reported more than $164 million in available funds as of Oct. 14. Trump’s aides have framed the effort as a way to preserve his influence inside the Republican Party during his final two years in office.

Meredith O'Rourke

Trump personally monitors the fundraising effort and frequently speaks with Meredith O'Rourke about major donors. Danielle Alvarez, who speaks for Trump, called him the “most successful fundraiser in modern political history” and said, “President Trump can't be bought.”

The donor base has included cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence executives, along with prominent Republican donors Elon Musk and Miriam Adelson. The spending has helped MAGA Inc. remain one of Trump’s most active tools for shaping Republican politics, not just for one election but for the next cycle too.

MAGA Inc. and Thomas Massie

MAGA Inc. also helped defeat Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie during the 2026 Republican primaries. That gives Trump a model for how the operation can still be used against Republicans who resist him, even after an election cycle ends.

The group spent more than $400 million during the midterm elections, but Democrats won control of both the House and Senate anyway. It also invested heavily in traditionally Republican districts that unexpectedly became competitive, leaving Trump with a costly operation that did not stop the party from losing Congress.

Trump’s 2028 money

On July 30, The reported that Trump had raised more than $800 million since returning to the White House. In September, he said, according to The Washington Post, “I expect to have money left over, and we can use that for '28.”

The immediate question is whether he keeps MAGA Inc. as it is or replaces it with a new political organization. Either way, the money appears likely to stay in motion, and that leaves future Republican candidates in a system where Trump’s fundraising network can still decide who gets help and who gets cut off.
