Strictly Come Dancing Week 7 will include a Remembrance Sunday tribute during Sunday's results show, with Amy Dowden returning to the dancefloor for the group number. The performance shifts the weekend from pure scoring to commemoration, even as the competition keeps moving through Saturday night’s dances.
The tribute was choreographed by Lizzie Gough and will use Peter Gabriel’s arrangement of Heroes. It is inspired by London’s Monument to the Women of World War II and focuses on the lives of women during the conflict and the roles they played.
Heroes and the women of World War II
The routine opens with British soldiers leaving to fight in the war, then moves into the tribute’s central idea: the women whose work and experience are often pushed aside in wartime storytelling. That staging choice gives the results show a second function, turning a weekly elimination broadcast into a piece of televised remembrance.
Amy Dowden’s return is the clearest live-performance detail in the build-up. For a show built on regular pairing and weekly scoring, bringing back a professional dancer for a special number signals that this segment is meant to stand apart from the contest itself.
Saturday night Week 7 dances
Saturday night will still carry the standard Week 7 run of dances before the tribute arrives on Sunday. Bethany and Nancy will perform a Foxtrot to Leona Lewis’s Bleeding Love, while Dani and Nikita take on an American Smooth to Harry Connick Jr’s It Had to Be You.
Delta and Kai will dance a Cha Cha to Jennifer Lopez’s Let’s Get Loud; Lacey and Vito will perform a Rumba to Coldplay’s Yellow; Tabby and Mark will do a Paso Doble to Muse’s Supermassive Black Hole; and Cach and Maddie will dance a Waltz to Mulaa Joans’ That Ain’t You. Graeme and Lauren will tackle a Couple’s Choice routine to Peter Gabriel’s The Book of Love, John and Katya will dance a Salsa to Get Lucky by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell and Nile Rodgers, and Will and Dianne will take on a Quickstep to Maroon 5’s This Love.
Sunday’s results show slot
Gregory Porter will also perform on Sunday's results show with a routine from some of the professionals, which means the broadcast will balance competition, music and commemorative staging in one hour. The structure is unusual but workable: the live dances decide the week, then the results show adds the tribute and the guest performance before the elimination lands.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.40pm and Sunday at 7.10pm on One and iPlayer, and the most watchable part of the weekend may be the contrast itself — the scoring on Saturday, the remembrance on Sunday, and Amy Dowden back on the floor to bridge the two.
