The Emirates FA Cup second round proper draw will take place on Monday 9 November, with the next stage of the competition set to be confirmed live on TNT Sports at approximately 6.45pm GMT.
That means the path to the next round will be settled before the final first-round proper tie, with Plymouth Parkway due to face Berkhamstead as the last fixture in that stage. For clubs still waiting to discover their fate, the draw now becomes the immediate focus.
How the draw will be staged
Jules Breach will host the draw, with Karen Carney and Joel Ward involved in conducting it. Viewers can follow the action on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports YouTube, with the draw also available on TheFA.com and via TNT Sports services.
The draw will feature 40 ball numbers, giving the clubs in the second round proper their route into the next stage of the competition. It is a simple moment, but one that can reshape a club’s December very quickly.
When the second round proper will be played
The second round proper is scheduled to be played around the weekend of Saturday 5 December. That gives clubs a short window to prepare once the pairings are confirmed on Monday night.
For the sides still involved, the draw is more than just a formal step. It is the moment when the FA Cup starts to take on its next shape, with the surviving clubs finally able to see who stands between them and the third round.
