Jennifer Hale leads 7-day cast push to save Mass Effect

Jennifer Hale joined a two-minute 7-day video from the original Mass Effect trilogy cast urging fans to help save Mass Effect after EA shuttered BioWare and canceled Mass Effect 5. The message landed on November 7, the series’ annual holiday, while the franchise’s gaming side sits on indefinite hold.

We are Mass Effect

The video was organized by We are Mass Effect and posted with the line, “We need to #SaveMassEffect.” Sam Hulick, Ash Sroka, Keythe Farley, Kimberly Brooks, Mark Meer, Steve Blum, and Brandon Keener appear alongside Hale, giving the campaign the kind of full-cast weight that turns a fandom plea into a public industry message.

More than 310,000 signatures are already behind the petition to save the franchise. That scale has pushed the campaign beyond a single social post and into a sustained pressure effort, with We are Mass Effect using a Times Square billboard as part of the push.

Redwood City and Edmonton

Yesterday, the group drove a mobile billboard around EA headquarters in Redwood City, California, and today another mobile billboard was outside BioWare’s former offices in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The campaign is using the same tactic in different locations because the audience is not just players; it is the company still deciding what the franchise becomes next.

On the same day, former project director and executive producer Michael Gamble also sent a message to fans for N7 Day. His appearance keeps the conversation anchored to the people who helped build the series, even as the corporate decision has already frozen Mass Effect 5 and the broader gaming side of the property.

The Game Awards billboard

Merr, a member of We are Mass Effect, said the process of lining up the video “It started feeling like Shepard recruiting the squad in Mass Effect 2!” and added, “We were bringing people on board one by one, and Mark was a huge help in making that happen!” The responses from participating actors included “Thank you for doing this,” and “Thank you for your work.”

Another billboard was set to appear around The Game Awards next month, so the campaign is not fading after N7 Day. EA has already shut BioWare and canceled Mass Effect 5; the public response now looks designed to keep the franchise visible until someone decides whether that hold becomes permanent or gets reversed.
