Police Scotland said officers were called to the Congress Road area at about 23:10 after reports of a large disturbance. Footage shared on social media showed a group of men trading punches in the street outside the venue, where thousands of spectators had earlier attended the event.

More than 20 police vehicles and a police helicopter were sent to the area as officers tried to deal with the disorder. Ch Insp Paul Daley said several officers were assaulted while carrying out their duties during the incident.

Daley said violence against officers was disgraceful and would not be tolerated, adding that it was extremely fortunate they were not seriously injured.

Police said the two men, aged 32 and 27, have been charged. One of them is accused of assaulting a police officer and a member of the public, while the other faces a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour. A recorded police warning was also given to a third man.
