President Seçer Engages with Tarsus and Çamlıyayla Farmers

In a significant event held at Tarsus Cumhuriyet Square, Mersin Mayor Seçer announced extensive support for farmers in the Tarsus and Çamlıyayla districts. The program allocated resources under four main projects aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity.

Support Initiatives for Farmers in Tarsus and Çamlıyayla

A total of 823 producers benefited from this initiative, which is valued at 41 million TL. The following key resources were provided:

  • Mobile solar energy systems to 98 producers
  • 36,120 liters of liquid fertilizer to 602 producers
  • 90 tons of feed to 120 producers
  • 4,500 narcissus bulbs to 3 producers

Mayor Seçer emphasized Turkey’s identity as an agricultural nation, stating, “We are a nation of farmers.” He underscored the importance of agriculture in Mersin and expressed commitment to supporting farmers regardless of their political affiliations.

Commitment to Fairness and Development

Seçer highlighted the need for equitable services from local government revenues. “We buried injustice under the earth. Everyone is an equal citizen in our eyes,” he stated, reaffirming his administration’s non-partisan approach.

During his speech, the Mayor also conveyed a message of unity and solidarity, referencing the guiding principles of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. He stated, “We will live together under the Turkish flag, regardless of our political views.” This declaration reflects an aim for brotherhood amid diversity.

Future Investments and Agricultural Innovations

Looking ahead, Seçer announced a significant increase in the agricultural support budget, rising by 80% to 215 million TL by 2025. Additionally, he revealed plans for new investments, including:

  • A Agricultural Innovation Center within the 2026 investment program
  • A Fish and Aquaculture Market in Karaduvar
  • A 324-unit social housing project in Tarsus

Mayor Seçer reiterated their promise to fulfill all commitments made by 2029. He also noted that the Mersin Water and Sewerage Administration (MESKİ) has invested 2.1 billion TL in Tarsus, with plans for new treatment facilities, sports areas, cultural parks, and road improvements.

Seçer concluded by emphasizing the dedication to serving the people of Mersin and contributing to the nation’s prosperity. “Our work and mission revolve around Mersin, Tarsus, our people, and our beautiful country,” he said.
