The Heart of the Story in Worfield
Worfield, located near Bridgnorth, is depicted as the fictional village of Champton. Reverend Jeannetta Stokes, the vicar at St Peter’s Church in Worfield for the past 15 years, shared insights about the filming process.
Initially, local villagers felt apprehensive about the production. During the filming, an agreement was made to allow Sunday worship at the church, yet security measures were in place. Security guards managed access to maintain the secrecy of filming.
Even on Sundays, certain areas of the church, such as back rooms and side aisles, remained off-limits to the congregation.
Positive Community Impact
Despite the restrictions, Reverend Stokes mentioned that the filming crew acted professionally and positively contributed to the village’s atmosphere. She expressed that it was an exciting time for Worfield, uniting the community in a unique experience.
