TSA PreCheck Enrollment Event Reopens at GTRA
Golden Triangle travelers have an opportunity this month to enroll in the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck program. The Golden Triangle Regional Airport (GTRA) will host an enrollment event from October 28 to October 30.
TSA PreCheck Enrollment Event Details
The enrollment will take place daily from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the second floor of the passenger terminal. This initiative aims to simplify the enrollment process for residents in Northeast Mississippi and West Alabama, as the nearest enrollment centers are located in Birmingham and Jackson.

Benefits of TSA PreCheck
Travelers enrolled in TSA PreCheck enjoy expedited security screening at over 180 airports nationwide. Key benefits include:
- No need to remove shoes, belts, or light jackets.
- Laptops and liquids can remain in bags.
- Faster access through security checkpoints.
Enrollment Process
The enrollment process involves a $78 fee, valid for five years. Applicants must complete a brief 10-minute application in person and will undergo fingerprinting for background checks. Notifications of enrollment and a Known Traveler Number (KTN) will be sent within 30 days if checks are clear.
The KTN is embedded in boarding passes and can be shared with airlines and travel companies for future trips.
