Acting Governor Way Declares Emergency Before Severe Nor’easter Storm

Acting Governor Tahesha Way has declared a State of Emergency across New Jersey as a severe nor’easter storm approaches. This declaration will take effect at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The storm is expected to begin impacting the state on Sunday, October 12, and continue into Monday, October 13.

Moderate to major coastal flooding
Inland flash flooding
Sustained winds reaching up to 60 mph
Localized rainfall accumulation of up to five inches
High surf that may cause significant beach erosion and dune breaching

Executive Order No. 399 has been issued to prepare for the extreme weather conditions affecting all 21 counties in the state.
