Sia’s Ex-Husband Demands $250K Monthly for Spousal Support

Daniel Bernard, the estranged husband of singer Sia, is requesting substantial spousal support following their divorce. Court documents reveal he is seeking $250,856 each month. In addition, he wants Sia to contribute $300,000 towards his attorney fees and another $200,000 for forensic accounting costs.
Background of the Divorce
Sia filed for divorce from Bernard in March 2025, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Their marriage lasted 26 months. During this time, the couple lived in a luxurious 9,500-square-foot home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles. They employed between 10 and 12 staff members, which included a butler, personal chefs, and two masseuses.
Living Expenses
Bernard claims their living costs ranged from $400,000 to $500,000 per month. However, he stated that he has been unemployed since April 1, 2025, and has no current source of income. According to him, Sia has ceased funding their joint venture, Modern Medicine, which included his salary.
Financial Requests
- Monthly spousal support: $250,856
- Attorney fees: $300,000
- Forensic accounting fees: $200,000
Bernard mentions that his only financial support since October 1, 2025, has been limited to monthly payments from Sia, regulated by court orders. He argues that he is simply trying to achieve financial equality through the court.
Custody Matters
The couple has an 11-month-old child named Somersault Wonder Bernard. Sia has initially requested both legal and physical custody of their child but is open to visitation rights for Bernard. Interestingly, Sia has also indicated her wish to terminate any potential spousal support payments to Bernard, though he continues to pursue his claims.
This marks Sia’s second divorce, having previously ended her marriage to Erik Lang in 2016 after two years. As the legal proceedings continue, the outcome remains to be seen.
