The California Highway Patrol responded to a multi-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 101 around 10:40 p.m. Upon reopening four of the six lanes, officers discovered Pierce’s vehicle south of the crash site. Signs of alcohol impairment led officers to conduct a DUI investigation.
