U.S. Farm Report’s College Road Show Visits Mizzou Annually

Tyne Morgan, a University of Missouri alum, recently visited Mizzou for her annual U.S. Farm Report College Road Show. This event showcased the agricultural community’s vibrant spirit and collaboration. Held on a Thursday morning, it marked the fourth stop in Morgan’s College Road Show series.

Highlights from the College Road Show at Mizzou

The live taping attracted numerous representatives from Missouri’s agricultural sectors. Organizations present included:

  • Missouri Corn Growers Association
  • Missouri Soybean Association
  • Missouri Pork Association
  • Missouri Farm Bureau
  • Missouri Farmers Care

Tyne Morgan emphasized the event’s purpose, saying it highlights the importance of land-grant universities and their contributions to agriculture. “The idea was to showcase the research and innovative work being done, particularly through the College of Agriculture,” Morgan explained.

Engagement and Competitions

The event also included social media contests and raffles, stimulating engagement among attendees. Notably, students from the Missouri Collegiate Farm Bureau, Tyson Wilson and Ethan Vanderwert, won a $500 prize for their agricultural messaging displayed on a plywood sign.

Vanderwert highlighted the significance of agriculture, stating, “As farmers, we understand that agriculture is essential for feeding and clothing the world.”

Support for Students and Industry Collaboration

Students from the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) felt immense support from both industry leaders and fellow peers. Josie Bray, the CAFNR Student Council President, remarked on the value of networking and collaboration within the agricultural sector.

The episode of the U.S. Farm Report featuring Mizzou will air on KRCG 13 this weekend. This year’s event effectively integrated educational discussions on harvest yields, benefiting students with a total of $5,600 in donations from participating agricultural organizations.
