Without Austin, the Steelers will lean on other receivers to fill the gap. Coach Mike Tomlin highlighted the opportunity for players like Roman Wilson and Scotty Miller to step up. “You’re faced with challenges as a collective,” said Tomlin. “One man’s misfortune is another man’s opportunity.”
Scotty Miller’s Readiness
Scotty Miller expressed his eagerness to take on a larger role. “You never know when those opportunities are going to come,” he stated. Miller has yet to record any receptions this season but remains optimistic. “I’ve been thrust into roles before; you’ve got to be ready,” he added.
Ke’Shawn Williams Joins the Roster
The Steelers have also promoted receiver Ke’Shawn Williams from the practice squad to the active roster. Williams initially signed as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft. He has experience from his college career, where he contributed significantly at both Wake Forest and Indiana.
