Gushers Unveils Bradley Whitford Horror Short Inspired by ’90s ‘FruitHead’ Ads

Gushers has surprised fans this spooky season with the release of a short horror film titled “FruitHead.” This film draws inspiration from the company’s iconic 1990s advertisements, where children’s heads transformed into fruit after consuming the snack.

FruitHead: A Dark Twist on Nostalgia

The short film features Bradley Whitford as Richard, a ruthless commercial director. Obsessed with realism, Richard resorts to dark magic, transforming a child actor’s head into a strawberry during a commercial shoot. Despite a visually intense transformation scene, a crew member reveals that CGI was the secret behind the effect, ultimately leaving the actor behind.

Revenge and Redemption

Years later, Richard faces consequences for his actions when Jacob, the child actor portrayed by Chester Collins, seeks revenge. Jacob, burdened by his “deformed strawberry head,” confronts Richard as the film references the memorable Gushers tagline: “A taste that will drive you fruity.”

Behind the Scenes of FruitHead

Directorial duties for the film were handled by Mike Diva, and it premiered on the Gushers YouTube channel following a collaboration with Imagine Entertainment. The release of “FruitHead” comes shortly after another seasonal short film called “Sweet Revenge,” commissioned by Angry Orchard, featuring the slasher character Jason Voorhees.

Bradley Whitford’s Recent Works

Bradley Whitford continues to expand his repertoire with roles in the Netflix series “The Diplomat” and the upcoming film “Death by Lightning,” which focuses on the assassination of President James A. Garfield. He has also been featured in popular horror titles like “The Cabin in the Woods” and “Get Out.”

As audiences embrace this unique blending of horror and nostalgia, “FruitHead” serves as a perfect treat for fans of Gushers and the genre alike.
