Stellantis Invests $13 Billion to Expand U.S. Presence

Stellantis has announced a significant investment plan aimed at enhancing its presence in the United States. The company will allocate $13 billion over the next four years to boost its business operations in the U.S. market. This investment marks the largest in Stellantis’ history during its century-long journey in America.
Expansion Plans and Job Creation
The substantial investment will facilitate the launch of five new vehicles, enhance production capabilities, and create more than 5,000 jobs across several states, including Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.
Manufacturing Growth
- Illinois: Over $600 million will be invested to reopen the Belvidere Assembly Plant, which will focus on the Jeep® Cherokee and Jeep Compass. This initiative aims to generate about 3,300 jobs.
- Ohio: Nearly $400 million will be directed towards relocating the assembly of a new midsize truck to the Toledo Assembly Complex. This shift is expected to create over 900 jobs, with production slated for 2028.
- Michigan: Stellantis plans to invest close to $100 million to develop a new range-extended electric vehicle at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant, anticipated to create 900 jobs. Additionally, $130 million will prepare the Detroit Assembly Complex for the next-generation Dodge Durango, starting production in 2029.
- Indiana: The company will reaffirm its commitment to its Kokomo facilities with over $100 million aimed at producing a new four-cylinder engine, expecting to add more than 100 jobs by 2026.
Production Capacity Increase
This strategic investment will significantly boost Stellantis’ U.S. output, increasing annual vehicle production by 50%. Furthermore, the company has plans for 19 additional refreshed products along with new powertrains through 2029.

Antonio Filosa, Stellantis CEO and North America COO, emphasized that this investment reinforces the company’s focus on U.S. growth, which is pivotal not only for the company but also benefits its global operations. He stated, “Success in America strengthens our overall company.”
Stellantis operates a broad network in the U.S., with 34 facilities across 14 states that support over 48,000 employees, 2,600 dealerships, and nearly 2,300 suppliers.
This extensive investment will not only fortify Stellantis’ manufacturing capabilities but also align its product offerings with consumer demands in a competitive automotive market.
