Cops and Suspect Tumble 15 Rows During Arrest at NBA YoungBoy Concert

During an NBA YoungBoy concert at Miami’s Kaseya Center, a 23-year-old man was arrested following a disturbance. The incident occurred on Monday night at around 10:15 p.m., as Miami police responded to reports of non-compliance with arena rules.
Details of the Incident
The suspect, identified as Marcus Antwon Reed, allegedly resisted officers after making unwanted contact with a police officer. According to an arrest report, Reed clung to a handrail as officers attempted to remove him from his seat.
Use of Force and Arrest
As the situation escalated, a sergeant instructed an officer to deploy a Taser. Reed was hit twice in the chest, but the device was ineffective. Surveillance footage showed him and the officers tumbling down approximately 15 rows of seating during the struggle.
Additional law enforcement units arrived to assist, and Reed was eventually placed in handcuffs. Despite the efforts to detain him, Reed continued to resist as he was exited from the venue. Officers attempted various means, including striking Reed and pulling his hair, to gain compliance.
Medical Evaluation and Charges
After the arrest, Miami Fire Rescue evaluated Reed at the scene. He was then transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital for medical clearance. He faces serious charges, including:
- Two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer
- Four counts of resisting an officer with violence
As of Tuesday, Reed is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $7,500 bond. Fortunately, no significant injuries were reported among officers or other concert attendees.
