Ex-Tennessee Star and Alabama Coach Arrested in Nashville Prostitution Sting

Jay Graham, a former standout running back for the Tennessee Volunteers, was arrested in Nashville for involvement in a prostitution sting. The 50-year-old coach was taken into custody by the Metro Nashville Police Department’s Special Investigations Division on Wednesday.

Details of the Arrest

Graham, who played at Tennessee from 1993 to 1996, was identified during an undercover operation where detectives placed ads on escort websites. Reports indicate that he communicated with an undercover officer posing as a minor. The conversation reportedly led to an agreement for sexual services priced at $120.

Upon arriving at a Nashville hotel to consummate the agreement, Graham was arrested as the money changed hands. His bond has been set at $45,000.

Charges Faced

  • Patronizing prostitution involving a minor
  • Solicitation of a minor for aggravated statutory rape

Graham is one of three individuals arrested in this operation, which highlights ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Before his arrest, Jay Graham had an extensive coaching career. He served as the Centennial High School football coach but was subsequently fired following his arrest. Graham’s coaching history includes a brief tenure at Alabama under Nick Saban in 2021 and a role as running backs coach at Tennessee under Jeremy Pruitt.

During his time at Tennessee, he contributed to winning three bowl games, including two Citrus Bowls and a Gator Bowl. His performance as a player included rushing for 2,609 yards while earning All-SEC honors twice as a junior and senior.
