Amy Jones Reaches 2,500 ODI Runs, Joins Elite List vs India
In a remarkable achievement, Amy Jones has crossed the 2,500-run milestone in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). She is the eighth English woman to reach this significant landmark. Jones accomplished this feat during the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup match against India on 19 October at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

Jones marked her 2,500th run with her very first run in the match, highlighting her status as a key player for England. At 32 years old, she joins a prestigious group of former and current players, including:

She achieved this milestone in her 108th ODI appearance, having played 91 innings. Jones has demonstrated impressive consistency in her career, maintaining an average of 32 and a strike rate of approximately 85. Her contributions include two centuries and 14 half-centuries.
Performance in the World Cup
In the ongoing World Cup, Jones began the tournament strongly with an unbeaten 40 runs against South Africa, leading to a comfortable victory for her team. However, her performance has fluctuated since then. In subsequent matches, she scored just one run against Bangladesh, followed by 11 runs against Sri Lanka. Jones only managed eight runs in a rain-affected match against Pakistan.

As of now, England holds the third position on the points table with seven points. India is in fourth place, hoping for a comeback after suffering two successive defeats.
