Morehead State University (MSU) recently honored its notable alumnus, Phil Simms, by naming its stadium the Phil Simms Stadium. This significant event took place during the university’s 2025 Homecoming festivities, featuring a dedication ceremony held on Saturday afternoon.

The Director of Athletics, Kelly Wells, introduced Phil Simms at the ceremony, emphasizing his immense contribution to the university’s recognition. “Few people, if anyone, have brought as much recognition to Morehead State University as Phil Simms,” Wells stated.

Simms expressed his heartfelt connection to the university, saying, “If I had to name my 10 to 15 closest friends in life, they would all be from here.” He conveyed his deep affiliation with Morehead State, mentioning, “I’m a part of Morehead State, the school, the town and of course the football team.”
