Rosalía Announces November Release for New Album ‘Lux’

Fans of Rosalía can finally mark their calendars. The acclaimed Spanish singer has announced that her new album, titled “Lux,” will be released on November 7, 2023. This marks her first full-length project since her 2022 album, “Motomami.”

Album Release Details

“Lux” will be made available through Columbia Records. Rosalía unveiled the official album artwork at an event in Madrid’s Gran Vía. The striking image features the artist dressed in nun’s attire set against a soft blue background.

During the reveal, which was streamed live on TikTok and Instagram, she expressed her excitement. “Been waiting so long for this day, this moment, and finally, this moment has arrived,” she said. However, the TikTok livestream ended abruptly, potentially due to policy violations while driving and smoking.

Pre-Order and Special Editions

Vinyl and CD versions of “Lux” are currently available for pre-order on Rosalía’s official website. Fans can purchase a special package that includes a limited-edition signed postcard for $34.99.

Teasers and Social Media Hints

Leading up to the announcement, Rosalía teased her followers with cryptic clues about “Lux” on social media. She tweeted, “LUX = LOVE,” generating buzz and speculation among her fanbase. A prominent billboard in Times Square also pointed to her upcoming album’s release.

In addition, she shared videos of herself listening to a symphony orchestra, adding to the anticipation surrounding the album. Rosalía spoke with Highsnobiety about her personal growth during the creation of “Lux.” “I’ve changed a lot, but at the same time, I’m still wrapping my head around the same things,” she noted.

Rosalía’s Musical Journey

“Motomami,” released in March 2022, has been a significant milestone for Rosalía. The album won the Album of the Year award at the 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards, making her the first woman to achieve this honor twice, following her win for “El Mal Querer” in 2019.

This concept album showcased her collaborative work with prominent producers like Noah Goldstein, Michael Uzowuru, Dylan Wiggins, and Pharrell Williams. Following “Motomami,” she continued to make waves with collaborations, including tracks alongside Björk and Lisa from Blackpink, as well as a 2023 EP titled “RR” with Rauw Alejandro, featuring popular songs like “Beso,” “Vampiros,” and “Promesa.”
