Zac Brown and Joe Walsh to Join ‘The Voice’ Season 28 as Mentors

The upcoming season of NBC’s popular singing competition, The Voice, is set to welcome notable musicians as mentors. Joe Walsh and Zac Brown have been announced as mega mentors for Season 28, adding significant star power to the show.

Details about the Mentors

Zac Brown, the frontman of the Zac Brown Band, will guide contestants on teams led by Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg. Joe Walsh, famed member of The Eagles, will assist finalists from Niall Horan and Reba McEntire’s teams.

Knockouts Phase Begins

The Knockouts phase will start on October 27. Each coach will bring eight artists to this round, without any opportunity for saves or steals. The coaches must select one winner from their team to advance to the Playoffs stage of the competition.

Introducing New Features

This season will also feature an exciting addition called the “Mic Drop” button. Coaches can use this feature to show admiration for an outstanding performance, allowing viewers to vote for the Mic Drop winner. The selected artist will have the chance to perform at the Rose Parade on January 1, 2026.

Connections to Las Vegas

  • The Eagles headlined the Sphere in Las Vegas last year.
  • Zac Brown Band is scheduled to be the first country group to perform at the Sphere, starting in December.

Last season, LeAnn Rimes and Sheryl Crow served in similar mentoring roles. Notable past mentors include Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Sting, Wynonna Judd, and Keith Urban.

The Voice continues to be a leading platform for showcasing emerging talent in the music industry. Fans can catch the new season airing on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and PT on NBC or stream it later on Peacock.
