Authorities apprehended a man at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Monday, following a family tip about a potential shooting threat. Billy Joe Cagle, a 49-year-old resident of Cartersville, Georgia, allegedly planned to carry out an attack at the airport and broadcast his intentions on a social media livestream.

Cagle arrived at the airport in a Chevrolet pickup truck, where police discovered an AR-15 assault rifle along with 27 rounds of ammunition. Police Chief Darin Schierbaum reported that the Cartersville Police Department received a detailed tip from Cagle’s family. They expressed concern over his online statements indicating he might ‘shoot up’ the airport.
