Klug Appointed Head of Coaching at Norwich Academy

Bryan Klug has been appointed as the head of coaching at Norwich City’s academy. The announcement was made on October 21, 2025. Klug, 65, previously served as the head of coaching and player development at Ipswich Town. He left the club in June 2025 to “pursue other interests,” according to a statement from Ipswich.
Background of Bryan Klug
A Coventry native, Klug started his career at Ipswich during the Bobby Robson era. He won youth caps for England but never made a senior appearance due to injuries. He later returned to Ipswich as a youth coach in 1987 and became the academy director upon its inception in 1998.
Achievements at Ipswich Town
- Instrumental in developing talents like Richard Wright, Titus Bramble, and Kieron Dyer.
- Helped the U18 team win the FA Youth Cup in 2005.
- Served as caretaker-manager multiple times but did not pursue the position full-time.
Klug transitioned to the role of head of coaching in 2016, becoming more involved in training. He was recognized for his contributions to developing young players at Ipswich.
Transition to Norwich City
His move to Norwich is believed to be supported by Dean Rastrick, head of football development, who has previously worked with Klug at Tottenham. Klug was listed as head of coaching and was present for the U17 Premier League Cup tie against Ipswich at Playford Road shortly after his appointment.
Many former players he developed have expressed their gratitude for his guidance and impact on their careers. As he embarks on this new chapter in his career, the football community watches with interest.
