Disabled veterans can anticipate a new round of benefit payments this coming November. As of 2024, approximately 6.5 million veterans receive disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Details of November 2025 VA Benefits: Release Date Announced
November VA benefits will typically be disbursed at the end of the month. However, since November 30 falls on a weekend, the payments will instead be released on December 1, 2025. This information was confirmed by Military.com.
Despite the ongoing government shutdown that began on October 1, VA benefits will continue to be processed. A VA spokesperson stated, “VA benefits will continue to be processed and delivered, including compensation, pension, education, and housing benefits.”
Understanding VA Disability Payments
The amount of benefits each veteran receives is determined by two main factors: their disability rating and whether they have dependents. Disability ratings are assigned in increments of 10 percent and reflect the severity of the veteran’s health condition.
- Veterans with a 10 percent rating receive a base payment of $175.51 per month.
- A 20 percent rating provides a base payment of $346.95 per month.
- The maximum monthly benefit is $4,544.23 for veterans rated at 100 percent with a spouse, one child, and two dependent parents.
Veterans with additional dependents may qualify for even higher payments. The VA also considers multiple service-related conditions when determining overall compensation, calculating a combined rating as necessary.
Eligibility for VA Disability Compensation
A variety of health issues can qualify veterans for disability compensation. Conditions may include:
- Chronic back pain linked to spinal disorders
- Lung disease or respiratory issues
- Significant hearing loss
- Scar tissue from injuries or surgeries
- Limited mobility or range of motion
- Cancers related to toxic exposure
Mental health conditions are also eligible for benefits. These include:
- Anxiety and depression
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Traumatic brain injury
- Conditions stemming from military sexual trauma (MST)
Eligible veterans should prepare for the upcoming benefits, ensuring they understand how their disability ratings and dependent status can impact their payments.
