Keurig’s Response and Future Actions
Keurig has stated that they did not intend to mislead customers. Nonetheless, as part of the settlement agreement, the company will amend its packaging and advertisements. This move aims to clarify the recyclability of K-Cup® pods and encourage consumers to verify local recycling guidelines.
Commissioner of Competition Matthew Boswell mentioned the importance of truthful marketing. Misleading claims can prevent consumers from making informed purchasing decisions, exacerbating issues concerning environmental sustainability.
