Manhunt Underway in Vanceboro After Deputy Stabbed, Suspect Sought for Havelock Murder
A manhunt is currently underway in Vanceboro, North Carolina, following a violent incident involving a deputy and a suspect connected to a murder case. Authorities are searching for 24-year-old Dominic Connelly, who is linked to the murder of his 72-year-old grandmother, Patricia Lopedote.

The confrontation occurred on Wednesday night around 8:45 p.m. Inside a fast-food restaurant located at 380 Highway 43, a deputy attempted to apprehend Connelly. During this encounter, the deputy suffered a stab wound to the leg, leading to Connelly fleeing the scene.

In response to the incident, a command post has been established in Vanceboro. Law enforcement agencies are employing K-9 units, drones, and other resources in the search for Connelly. The community remains on high alert as officials work diligently to locate the suspect.

Lopedote was discovered deceased inside her home on Highway 101 after authorities responded to a fire on Saturday.
