Jerry L. Brown, a cherished resident of Tawas City, has passed away at the age of 69. He died at his home on Friday, October 24, 2025. Born on March 1, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, Jerry was the son of Leslie Brown and Peggy Black.

Career and Hobbies

After completing his high school education, Jerry began his career at Buick City in Flint. He dedicated 31 years of service there, primarily as a paint technician. Jerry had a wide array of interests, including:

  • Playing games
  • Solving puzzles
  • Reading
  • Outdoor activities such as lawn care, golfing, camping, and boating

Family Life

Jerry married Karla Brown, his wife and best friend, on July 30, 1976. Together, they celebrated 48 years of marriage until her passing in March 2025. He is also remembered for his love for his family, especially for the time spent with them.

Survived by and Preceded in Death

Jerry’s family includes two daughters, Amy Brown of Phoenix, Arizona and Kayla Lurvey of Tawas City. He also leaves behind a grandson, Austin Johnson of Phoenix, a sister, Sylvia Mead, a brother, Jimmy Brown, and brothers-in-law, John and Jerry Freel. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Brown, his sister, Brenda Green, and his parents, Leslie and Peggy.

Funeral Arrangements

A gathering to honor Jerry will take place at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Crestwood Cemetery in Grand Blanc.
