Richie Incognito Demands Dolphins Fire Coach Mike McDaniel

After a disappointing loss against the Baltimore Ravens, calls for a coaching change are growing louder for the Miami Dolphins. Former Pro Bowl offensive lineman Richie Incognito Jr. has urged team owner Stephen Ross to reconsider the leadership within the organization.
Richie Incognito’s Call for Change
Richie Incognito, who played for the Dolphins from 2010 to 2013, expressed his frustration on social media. Following Miami’s loss, which left their record at 2-7, Incognito stated, “I’ve seen enough. This team’s quit on Mike McDaniel.” He believes it’s time for a complete overhaul of the coaching staff and team culture.
Mike McDaniel’s Position Under Scrutiny
As the head coach of the Dolphins since 2022, Mike McDaniel’s future is now uncertain. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted that McDaniel is under pressure and his job status is precarious. Although team owner Stephen Ross still supports McDaniel, his position will largely depend on how the players respond to his leadership moving forward.
Rapoport remarked, “Do they keep playing for him, or do they not? That will determine whether he keeps his job.” This comes after Ross had previously indicated he did not plan to make any coaching changes following another tough defeat against the Cleveland Browns.
Game Recap: Dolphins vs. Ravens
The Dolphins struggled significantly in their recent game against the Ravens. Miami’s offense only managed to score through two field goals by Riley Patterson, measuring 49 and 43 yards. Meanwhile, the defense struggled to contain Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who successfully threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns.
Fan Sentiment and Future Games
The dismal performance led to boos from the home crowd as the Dolphins exited the field. Coach McDaniel acknowledged the disappointment, stating, “It sucks. Fans enjoy winning and our expectation is that we have to do the work to give them something to cheer about.”
Looking ahead, the Dolphins are set to face the Buffalo Bills next Sunday, with fans hoping for a swift turnaround in performance.
