Details of Remembrance Sunday Ceremonies at Manchester Cenotaph
The main ceremony will commence at 10:30 am with a procession. Veterans, military personnel, and cadets will march from John Dalton Street to the Cenotaph in St Peter’s Square. This segment of the event will be led by the Greater Manchester Police Band.
Civic Procession and Commemorative Service
Following this, at 10:45 am, a Civic procession will start from Mount Street. The Scots Guards Association Pipe Band will accompany these dignitaries as they head toward the Cenotaph. Upon arrival, various groups will gather, including civic leaders, present and former armed forces members, faith leaders, and emergency services.
The commemorative service will begin at 11:00 am, marked by the firing of a maroon to indicate a two-minute silence. A second maroon will signal the end of this moment of reflection.
Community Engagement and Activities

- Events will occur in cemeteries, parks, Peace Gardens, and at war memorials.
