Life-Size Michael Jackson Cake Tribute Unveiled at Birmingham Show
In Birmingham, a striking six-foot tribute cake honoring Michael Jackson has been unveiled. This life-sized creation captures the essence of his iconic Halloween look from the famous “Thriller” music video. The cake was showcased at the Cake International show at the NEC, where numerous remarkable cakes were presented for judging.
Details of the Cake Tribute
Weighing nearly 50 kilograms, the cake features a blend of sugar paste, chocolate, Rice Krispies, and marshmallow filling. A backdrop of sugar paste tombstones enhances its Halloween theme. Emma Jayne, a mother of three from South Wales, dedicated six weeks to craft this impressive tribute. Previously, she has created life-size cake figures, including tributes to the King of Pop in 2023 and the late Queen.
Transporting the Cake
The logistics of transporting such a delicate creation posed significant challenges. Emma drove three hours from Aberdare to Birmingham, taking special care to transport the cake head separately from the body. She utilized a large van equipped with a tail lift to safely move the cake on its back.
Emma expressed her relief that the cake arrived intact, stating, “It got here really, really well. I just had a little bit of damage on the back of the lapel, but other than that, he got here perfectly.”
