Strictly Come Dancing Star Urges Partner to Stay After ‘Low Moment’
Molly Rainford and Tyler West, a couple who rose to fame on the hit show Strictly Come Dancing, have faced significant challenges during their latest project, Celebrity Race Across the World. Their relationship, which began during the 2022 series of Strictly, recently underwent a test of strength while filming the show.
Relationship Challenges and Growth
Filming took Molly and Tyler through stunning coastlines and lush jungles, but not everything was picture-perfect. Molly experienced a particularly tough moment that nearly jeopardized their adventure and relationship. She recounted, “It was one of those times where you think, ‘Please, not now, not here.’ Everything had been going so well, but suddenly I hit rock bottom.”
A Shared Experience
Molly admitted her moment of crisis was quite personal and stomach-related, leading her to plead with Tyler, “You can’t leave me now, because if you did, I don’t think anybody will love me ever again!” Tyler, reflecting on their experience, acknowledged the fears they both had, saying, “We’d already heard from friends who said, ‘I couldn’t do that kind of show with my partner.’” However, the couple ultimately found that these challenges brought them closer together.
Engagement and Future Projects
After three years as a couple, Molly and Tyler recently became engaged and are now sharing a home. Participating in Celebrity Race Across the World forced them to swap glamorous events for public transport and budget accommodations, providing a new perspective on travel.

- Final Destination: Guajira Peninsula, Colombia.
Molly expressed that this adventure served as a fast-track version of a gap year. She noted, “We’ve both worked since we were young, so this was a chance to see the world in a completely different way.” Tyler added, “Normally, when you go on holiday, you stay in a resort. It’s what makes Race Across the World special.”
Competing with Friends
Their fellow competitors in the show include television presenter Anita Rani, accompanied by her father, siblings Roman and Harley Moon Kemp, and Hollyoaks star Dylan Llewellyn with his mother. Tyler concluded their experience by stating, “We started this journey together and we finished it even more in love. Nothing was going to make me walk away – not even that!”
Celebrity Race Across the World is set to return to BBC later this year, while viewers can catch up on previous episodes of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC iPlayer.
