NASHVILLE, Tenn — Linebacker Daiyan Henley showcased resilience on a challenging day following a personal tragedy. On Saturday morning, he was awakened by loud bangs, initially thinking he was late for a meeting. Instead, he received devastating news: his brother, Jabari Henley, had been shot and killed the night before.
Jabari, 34, was killed shortly after 11 p.m. local time in south Los Angeles. According to Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Norma Eisenman, he was shot multiple times while approaching a vehicle. The assailants fled the scene, and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
Daiyan Henley’s Response to Tragedy
In the face of such heart-wrenching news, Daiyan Henley displayed remarkable strength. He decided against sitting out the following day’s game against the Tennessee Titans. Despite the emotional turmoil, Henley performed admirably, recording a sack, a pass deflection, and seven tackles in the Chargers’ 27-20 victory.

Additionally, during the Chargers’ second game of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders, Henley dealt with a serious infection that caused him to lose 10 pounds and require an oxygen tank.
