Wizards Unveils Mysterious “Land of 1000 Lands” MTG Reprint

Wizards of the Coast has unveiled an intriguing new addition to the Magic: The Gathering universe called “Land of 1000 Lands.” This teaser was shared as part of the promotional campaign for the upcoming Secret Lair Countdown Kit: Encyclopedia, which officially launches today.

What to Expect from “Land of 1000 Lands”

“Land of 1000 Lands” is not currently an actual MTG card. It seems to serve as thematic flavor text rather than a mechanically-unique card. Many fans speculate that this will likely be a reprint of the well-known card, City of Brass, given the artwork hints.

City of Brass Reprint Potential

  • Value: City of Brass is valued around $15 and is a key element in numerous Commander decks.
  • Collector Appeal: A new edition could enhance its value by an additional $20-30.
  • Current Total Value: The drop’s total value sits at approximately $92, bolstered by confirmed reprints like Urza’s Saga and Phyrexian Altar.

This new kit, priced at $200, promises significant value, with three of the 26 cards potentially covering $120 of that cost. The “Land of 1000 Lands” also invites speculation about its relationship to cards like Vesuva or Thespian’s Stage. While a reprint of Thespian’s Stage seems unlikely, a Vesuva reprint does fit within the theme, although its current market value is under $2.

Launch Details

The full Secret Lair Countdown Kit: Encyclopedia will be available starting at 9 AM PT today. Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating what other surprises this launch may hold.
