Cowboys Stadium to Host 2027 Stars’ Stadium Series Event

The NHL’s exciting 2027 Navy Federal Credit Union Stadium Series will take place at Cowboys Stadium, officially known as AT&T Stadium. This notable event will be held in Dallas, Texas, showcasing the city’s growing enthusiasm for ice hockey.

History of NHL Outdoor Games in Dallas

This will mark the second outdoor game for the Dallas Stars. The first was in the 2020 NHL Winter Classic, where the Stars faced the Nashville Predators at Cotton Bowl Stadium. An impressive crowd of 85,630 attended that game, making it the third-largest attendance for an NHL game in history.

Previous Record Attendance

To put this achievement in perspective, only two NHL games have attracted over 90,000 fans. In 2014, the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Detroit Red Wings before a record crowd of 105,491 at Michigan Stadium. Additionally, the Columbus Blue Jackets played in front of 94,751 fans during the 2015 Stadium Series at Ohio Stadium.

Tom Gaglardi’s Vision for the Series

Tom Gaglardi, the owner of the Dallas Stars, expressed enthusiasm for hosting the upcoming event. He acknowledges that the 2020 Winter Classic celebrated hockey’s success in Texas. Gaglardi believes the Stadium Series will receive similar support from the local community.

AT&T Stadium: A Premier Venue

AT&T Stadium has been a hub for significant events since its opening in 2009. Major highlights include:

  • Super Bowl XLV (2011)
  • 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship Game
