Trinity Christian College to Close at End of 2025-2026 Academic Year
Trinity Christian College, located in Palos Heights, Illinois, has announced its closure at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year. This decision was reached by the board of trustees and was made public on Tuesday. The college, which has been operational for 66 years, will hold its final commencement ceremony on May 8, 2026.
Reasons for Closure
The board determined that several persistent challenges contributed to this difficult decision. These include:
- Post-COVID financial losses
- Continuous operating deficits
- Declining enrollment rates
- Increased competition for students
- Changing priorities in donor contributions
Despite efforts to adjust its growth model, the college was unable to overcome these obstacles. Jeanine Mozie, the acting president, expressed deep sadness over the closure, stating that the college’s focus will be on supporting its community through this transition.
Support for Students and Staff
Trinity Christian College is committed to aiding its students, faculty, and staff during this time of change. To assist students in completing their education, the college will:
- Provide advising and support services
- Offer options for transferring to other institutions
- Ensure pathways for students not yet eligible to graduate
The administration reassured the community that these measures would facilitate timely graduation. Faculty and staff will also have resources available to assist in their job transitions.
A Legacy of Education
