The community mourns the loss of Judith Eve Kohler, affectionately known as Judy, who passed away on October 31, 2025, in Windsor, Ontario. She was 86 years old. Born in the spring of 1939, Judy hailed from Tarentorus, in the Algoma District of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Family and Legacy

Judith was the beloved daughter of Charles (Bud) and Lula (Lou) Charlebois and the second of six siblings. She is survived by her siblings:

  • Mary Ellen (Sandy) Lake
  • Peter/Glen (Leahann)
  • Dorothy (Paul Pilon)

Judy shared a special bond with her sister Dorothy. She was also a cherished mother, leaving behind six children:

  • Trish Beemer
  • David Fletcher
  • John Paul Tremblay

Community and Contributions

Judy was a lifelong friend to Aggie Farmer and was affectionately known as “Gramma Judy” by Aggie’s grandchildren. She cherished her relationships with her extended family, including her nephews and nieces.

Judy devoted much of her time to volunteer service, particularly with veterans’ organizations. She served as president of the ladies auxiliary for the VFW, where she organized numerous fundraising events for veterans’ families. She also enjoyed a long career as a cheerful waitress in both Amherstburg and Florida.

Life in Florida and Return to Ontario

Judy lived in Tavares, Florida, for 35 years, where she immersed herself in the community. Later, she relocated back to Amherstburg and spent her final five years with her daughters in Windsor, sharing her life with them and their new puppy, Primrose.

Joyful Spirit and Fond Memories

Known for her zest for life, Judy loved to dance, travel, and share her cooking with loved ones. Her faith was inclusive and expansive, reflecting her generous spirit. A Halloween enthusiast, she enjoyed dressing up and sharing treats with neighborhood children during the festive season.

Despite her passing, Judy’s vibrant spirit and kindness will be cherished by all who knew her. A private celebration of life will be organized to honor her memory.
