Broncos Exclude Wide Receiver Marvin Mims from Week 10 Raiders Clash
The Denver Broncos have announced that wide receiver Marvin Mims will not participate in the Week 10 game against the Las Vegas Raiders due to a concussion. This decision comes just days before their scheduled Thursday Night Football match at Empower Field at Mile High.
Injury Report Overview
Alongside Mims, two other players have also been ruled out: cornerback Patrick Surtain II due to a pectoral issue and tight end Nate Adkins who is dealing with a knee injury. The team’s injury report, released on Wednesday, included estimates from their walkthrough practice.
Marvin Mims’ Concussion Details
Mims is set to miss his second consecutive game, following a concussion incurred towards the end of Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys. Head coach Sean Payton explained the injury arose from communication issues during a special teams substitution.
Mims previously participated in limited practices on both Tuesday and Wednesday after missing practice on Monday. Unfortunately, he did not meet the NFL’s strict concussion protocol requirements to play, which necessitates clearance from an independent neurologist.
Marvin Mims’ Season Performance

- Total Touchdowns: 1
- Rushing Attempts: 7
- Rushing Yards: 54
- Rushing Touchdowns: 1

Other Notable Injuries
Safety PJ Locke is listed as questionable for the game with a neck injury. He was initially unable to practice on Monday but improved to a limited participant on Tuesday and a full participant on Wednesday.
If Locke cannot play, the Broncos may rely more heavily on backup safeties Devon Key and JL Skinner to support starters Brandon Jones and Talanoa Hufanga. It’s also possible that Delarrin Turner-Yell or Keidron Smith could be elevated from the practice squad to meet the team’s needs.
Other players, including outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper, defensive end John Franklin-Myers, nose tackle D.J. Jones, and kicker Wil Lutz, will be available for the matchup against the Raiders despite previous listings on the injury report.
