Red Command Protects Fugitives Linked to Witness’s Death in Rio Investigation
In a significant development linked to the assassination of Antonio Vinicius Gritzbach, a known informant against the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), two suspects are currently being monitored in Rio de Janeiro. Their presence in the Capital highlights the protective network of the Comando Vermelho (CV), a dominant criminal faction in the state.
Gritzbach’s Murder and Its Implications
One year after Gritzbach’s execution on November 8, 2024, the investigation continues to unravel the connections between the PCC, CV, and corrupt law enforcement. Gritzbach was fatally shot at São Paulo’s International Airport while returning from Maceió.
Suspects Hiding in Rio
- Kauê Amaral: Identified as the lookout who signaled Gritzbach’s arrival, he has been located in Vila Cruzeiro.
- Emílio Carlos Gongorra (“Cigarreira”): Known as the mastermind behind the execution, he allegedly flew to Rio shortly before the incident.
Both fugitives have reportedly received shelter from CV leaders. Drones operated by the São Paulo Civil Police recorded images of Amaral in a residence surrounded by armed guards. Unfortunately, two police drones were also shot down during surveillance operations.

Ongoing investigations by the São Paulo Civil Police, the Public Ministry, and the Federal Police have resulted in multiple arrests, including corrupt police officers.
