Nationwide Issues Urgent Two-Month Notice on £50 Bonus Payments for Customers

The Nationwide Building Society has set a critical deadline for customers eligible for a £50 bonus payment. This one-time payment is part of the society’s Big Nationwide Thank You initiative aimed at rewarding loyal customers.

Details of the £50 Bonus Payment

Last year, Nationwide distributed over £50 million to more than 12 million customers. This initiative followed the successful acquisition of Virgin Money. Payments were either deposited directly into bank accounts or sent as cheques through the mail.

Important Deadline for Cheque Recipients

  • Customers must cash their cheques by January 1, 2026.
  • Payment must be received by this date to avoid missing out.
  • Nationwide will review any inquiries from those unable to deposit their cheques case-by-case.

Eligibility Criteria for the Bonus

To qualify for the £50 bonus, customers had to meet the following conditions:

  • Be a member of Nationwide as of September 30, 2024, and remain a member when payments were issued.
  • Have at least one qualifying transaction in the past year.
  • Alternatively, hold a minimum of £100 across Nationwide accounts or owe £100 or more on a Nationwide mortgage.
  • New members who switched to any Nationwide current account between July 1 and September 30, 2024, were also eligible.
