Djerba, the scenic island destination off the coast of Tunisia, has welcomed over 1.12 million visitors by the end of October 2025. This significant milestone was revealed by Hichem Mahouachi, the Regional Tourism Delegate for Djerba, during a radio interview on November 8, 2025. The number of tourists has increased by 5.6% compared to the same period in 2024, showcasing the growing appeal of the location.
Tourist Demographics
Among the visitors, French tourists lead the pack, with approximately 280,000 arrivals. Tunisian tourists follow closely, numbering around 220,000. For the first time, Polish tourists have taken the third spot, followed by German and Libyan tourists.

The Djerba-Zarzis region is recognized as a premier tourism destination, accounting for a quarter of the nation’s overnight stays in 2023 and 2024. Mahouachi noted that the area hosts around 100 hotels and 120 travel agencies, making it a robust hub for tourism.
