PWHL Announces 16 Neutral-Site Games for 2025-26 Season Expansion

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has announced an exciting expansion for its 2025-26 season. The league will feature a total of 16 neutral-site games, increasing its outreach beyond its existing cities. This initiative aims to enhance fan engagement and broaden the league’s presence across North America.

PWHL Takeover Tour Details

The 2025-26 PWHL Takeover Tour™ will include games in both the United States and Canada. This season’s format will see matches held in 11 different cities, with notable host locations including:

  • Calgary
  • Chicago
  • Dallas
  • Halifax
  • Hamilton
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Winnipeg

The tour will also return to cities such as Denver, Detroit, Edmonton, and Québec City. For the third consecutive season, the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, which holds a record attendance of 14,288, will serve as a neutral-site venue.

Partnership and Sponsorship Highlights

DoorDash has been named the title partner for all Canadian games in the Takeover Tour. Other partners for specific games include:

  • BJ’s Wholesale Club (Dallas)
  • Woody Creek Distillers (Denver)
  • Ally Financial (Detroit)
  • Explore Edmonton (Edmonton)
  • Province of Nova Scotia (Halifax)

Game Schedule and Attendance Records

The 16 scheduled games will span 112 days, beginning on December 17, 2025, and concluding on April 7, 2026. Each of the eight PWHL teams will participate in at least three games, with many engaging in two home matchups.

The lineup includes significant highlights from the previous season, where the PWHL Takeover Tour welcomed fans from all U.S. states and Canadian provinces. In total, the past tour attracted over 123,000 attendees. An impressive 80% of attendees were attending their first PWHL game, showcasing the league’s growing popularity.

Tickets for the PWHL Takeover Tour™ will go on presale on November 13, 2025. General sales will begin the following day at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can purchase tickets via the El-Balad website.
