Fall Results in Blunt Trauma Injuries

In a tragic incident, Ace Frehley, the former guitarist of the iconic rock band Kiss, died due to blunt trauma injuries sustained from an accidental fall. Frehley, born Paul Frehley, passed away in Morristown, New Jersey, at the age of 74, as confirmed by a report from the Morris County Medical Examiner.

Details of the Incident

The fall, which occurred at his home, was initially reported by a representative but lacked specific details about the cause of death. Following a comprehensive medical examination, it was revealed that Frehley suffered multiple contusions, bone fractures to the skull, hemorrhages, and a subdural hematoma. Additional injuries were noted, including bruises on his hip, thigh, and abdomen.

After the fall, Frehley was placed on life support. Unfortunately, he succumbed after his family made the difficult decision to turn off his ventilator. A procedure named hemicraniectomy was attempted to address the hematoma but was unsuccessful.

Career Highlights

Ace Frehley was a vital part of Kiss from its inception in 1973 until 1982. He departed due to substance abuse concerns and ongoing conflicts with band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Frehley reunited with Kiss for a successful tour in 1996 but left the band again in 2002. The last performance of all four original members took place in 2018.

Frehley was scheduled to participate in the Kennedy Center Honors this year, where Kiss was set to be honored for their contributions to music. Gene Simmons paid tribute to Frehley, stating, “No one can touch Ace’s legacy. He loved the fans and was the eternal rock soldier.”

Recent Health Issues

Following his departure from Kiss, Frehley continued to perform as a solo artist. His last concert occurred on September 5 in Providence, Rhode Island. Sadly, he canceled an upcoming show at the Antelope Valley Fair in California due to complications following his recent fall.

On October 23, a funeral was held for the guitarist in the Bronx. His friend and SiriusXM host, Eddie Trunk, shared plans to honor Frehley’s memory with a tribute show or fan celebration in the future, pending family approval.
