Daboll, who was let go by the New York Giants, had previously worked with McDermott from 2018 to 2021. However, McDermott confirmed that hiring Daboll is not an option at this time.

Despite some unhappiness among fans concerning current offensive coordinator Joe Brady, McDermott reaffirmed his commitment to Brady for the remainder of the season. Following a disappointing performance where the Bills scored merely 13 points against the Miami Dolphins, Brady faced criticism.
